Kids Art Spot was designed for preschoolers through tweens.  Of course younger and older children can (and most definitely do!) engage in the activities as well, but the projects were specifically created with kids aged 3-10 in mind.

Families with younger kids will enjoy working together and connecting creatively, while older kids can have fun gaining independence and doing many of the projects unassisted!

You can all use the family’s membership together! Your family only needs one membership, regardless of how many kids use the app or website.  You have permission to download and print any of the files as many times as you'd like for personal use!

It depends on the activity, the child, and the family! Our art videos are set up so that a school-aged child could do them fairly independently. Giving kids a little bit of freedom in their creativity allows them to build confidence and problem-solving skills.  Many families take advantage of this and let their kids loose on the Kids Art Spot website or app to find activities and work on their own.

Other families choose to use their Kids Art Spot membership as a way to creatively connect with their children and will work on projects together as a family.

Of course, you can always do a mix of both!

Every single activity comes with a printable materials list, so you and your children can identify what you need ahead of time.

Most of the art activities use a few widely available art supplies and household ingredients, which you probably already have at home!

Some activities may call for materials that you don’t already have on hand, such as contact paper, shaving cream, or liquid watercolors. In this case you can choose to buy them at a local supermarket or craft store, use an alternative, or find another activity from the KIDS ART SPOT library. 

With many ideas to choose from, you can always decide what suits your needs best.

We suggest downloading the pdf of your creativity guide the first week of each month, so you always have something fun on hand whenever you need it.

That way, you can pick and choose whatever works best for your family, whenever it works for your family.

You might have art time every morning, or every afternoon, or just on weekends, or every Wednesday... you get the idea.  You do it your way.  The important thing is that you do it!
